The total cargo volume at Brussels Airport dropped by 1.8 per cent in February with the decline minimised by the extra day in February, which accounts for three per cent of the total volume of the month.
Thanks primarily to the leap day, belly cargo rose by 4.3 per cent and the volume of integrator cargo rose by 2.9 per cent in comparison with February last year.
The full-freighter volume dropped by 14.5 per cent compared to last year, soley due to the departure of Ethiopian Cargo. But this may only be temporary as the Belgian government has recently concluded an amendment of the bilateral agreement with Ethiopia, thereby creating the possibility of having Ethiopian Airlines return, the airport noted, adding that it is in discussions with the carrier on a possible return.
