Etihad Cargo has commenced a new twice weekly A330 freighter service to Brussels Airport in Belgium. The move further strengthens the connectivity options and economic ties between Abu Dhabi and Brussels and adds freighter capacity to its existing passenger service. The total cargo volume at Brussels Airport dropped by 1.8 per cent in February with the decline minimised by the extra day in February, which accounts for three per cent of the total volume of the month. Ethiopian Airlines (ET) has announced it will stop flying cargo into Brussels and will instead shift the 5-6 weekly cargo-flights, amounting to 40,000 to 50,000 tonnes, to Maastricht-Aachen Airport in the Netherlands.
