Air China has launched a three-times weekly Chengdu-Sydney service from 11 November making it the first nonstop route linking a city in west China to Australia. The new route – operated with A330-200 aircraft – will promote the development of economy and tourism of, as well as trade and industrial cooperation between, Sichuan and China’s western regions and Oceania.
In 2016, while expanding its global network with its hub in Beijing, Air China has also stepped up its efforts to build its regional hub in Chengdu, improving the regional networks of Chengdu and Chongqing. Relying on the extensive route network of the Star Alliance, Air China can easily fly passengers to 1,330 airports in 193 countries.
