Contracts include ground handling and cargo services at Manchester and Birmingham under initial 5-year deals.
Swissport signed another contract with Qatar Airways Cargo extending ground handling and cargo services for the Doha-based carrier at Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport for another five years, a press release confirmed.
Besides ramp handling and air cargo warehousing, the contract includes general cargo, pharmaceuticals, dangerous goods and temperature-sensitive goods, serving as a substantial baseload of cargo tonnes per year at Amsterdam for Swissport. The contract is valid until the end of 2025.
The duo also inked new 5-year deals at the airports in Manchester and Birmingham, which will commence on 1 September 2020.
With Swissport’s Manchester and Birmingham warehouses, Qatar Airways Cargo gains access to regional airports across the United Kingdom with road feeder services to Aberdeen, Belfast, Bristol, East Midlands, Glasgow and Newcastle.

With a strong focus on sustainability and compliance, we see Swissport as the perfect fit for cargo handling at these destinations.”
Qatar Airways Cargo is moving significant business via Swissport’s cargo hubs in Amsterdam, Basel, Liège and London Stansted, the release added.
