Qatar Airways declares reliable winter schedule, 124 destinations by end of 2020

October 5, 2020 by Payload Asia

Qatar's fleet of Airbus A350s puts it in a position to lead the sustainable recovery of international travel.

Qatar’s fleet of Airbus A350s puts it in a position to lead the sustainable recovery of international travel.

Qatar Airways has announced its winter schedule in line with passenger and cargo demand and the continued relaxation of entry restrictions around the world.

As the largest international carrier during this crisis according to IATA, the airline has applied its unrivalled knowledge of global passenger flows and booking trends to load a reliable winter schedule that passengers can trust.

“This trust begins by offering an honest schedule of flights that is realistic of the current market conditions and entry restrictions around the world,” Qatar Airways Group’s chief executive, Akbar Al Baker, commented.

For postponed or cancel flights, Mr Al Baker guaranteed support for its passengers with the most flexible and generous options to reschedule their plans.

“While no airline can predict with 100% certainty how the market will recover or future entry restrictions, our unrivalled experience accumulated by becoming the largest international carrier during this crisis uniquely positions us to build a realistic schedule of flights with confidence,” he added.

Since the onset of the pandemic, the airline has flown over 175 million kilometres to bring home over 2.3 million passengers on over 35,000 flights.

Qatar Airways also operated more than 400 charter flights, allowing it to stay up to date with the latest airport and national health procedures across the world and to keep a pulse on global passenger flows, particularly in new markets.

The airline’s strategic investment in fuel–efficient twin-engine aircraft, including the largest fleet of Airbus A350 aircraft, has enabled nonstop flying throughout this crisis and puts it in a position to lead the sustainable recovery of international travel.

By the end of this year, Qatar Airways plans to rebuild its network to 124 destinations, including 21 in Africa, 10 in the Americas, 42 in Asia Pacific, 38 in Europe and 13 in the Middle East.

The carrier said it has put in place the most advanced safety and hygiene measures on board its aircraft and in Hamad International Airport to restore passenger confidence.
