Cargo sales agent Network Airline Services (NAS) and Sri Lankan Airlines successfully operated three flights out of Entebbe loaded with fish maw bound for Hong Kong, considered as one of the top four seafood delicacies in Asian culture.
Sri Lankan Airlines operated ad hoc charters into Entebbe (EBB), which is not a usual route for the airline. Within 24 hours, the NAS team there, led by Sarah Wangui, managing director of NAS Nairobi, saw an opportunity and generated a load consisting of fish maws across 135 pieces.
John Gilfeather, sales director of NAS said, “This is great work from the team in Uganda, where they reacted so quickly in such a short space of time to secure cargo ready for these flights!”
The charter flights were operated with an A330-300 passenger aircraft out of EBB, with the first of three cargo flights departing on 23 February.
