Ocean and air freight rate benchmarking and market analytics platform Xeneta has acquired Amsterdam-based CLIVE Data Services in a partnership that looks to offer a more comprehensive view into the global ocean and air freight markets.
Niall van de Wouw, co-founder of CLIVE Data Services, will join Xeneta as chief air freight officer. The move comes at a time of heightened demand for timely shipment data amidst supply chain disruptions and cargo delays. Seven months back Xeneta revealed plans to integrate Clive’s dynamic load factor’ and capacity analyses into its market analytics platform for both sea and air.
The benchmarking and analytics company for the container shipping market said the $28.5 million series C funding in July last year has allowed it to ‘speed up the delivery of new services and to further expand its global footprint.’
The company uses a ‘crowdsourced’ approach in gathering ocean and air freight rates to offer a comprehensive container pricing index for all stakeholders in the $300 billion container and air freight trade industry.
