American Airlines earlier this month announced Greg Schwendinger as the next president for its cargo division, directly reporting to Derek Kerr, vice chair, finance chief and president at American Eagle, the airline’s regional branch.
The appointment follows predecessor Jessica Tyler’s move in May where she moved to another leadership role within the airline.
Schwendinger, who will start his new role on October 3, has spent over 15 years at the airline, holding various leadership roles across the airline. Most recently, he led the finance team at AccentCare, a health care services provider, during a period of transformation and growth.
“Greg brings a unique perspective which will shape our cargo business and its growth potential. We are fortunate to regain his expertise and welcome him as he leads cargo toward greater success,” said Kerr.
