Kuehne+Nagel signed a 3-year logistics service contract on 6 March with GMR Aero Technic, a subsidiary of GMR Hyderabad International Airport Limited.
The logistics integrator will provide inbound and outbound international air logistics services and round-the-clock AOG support for its long-time partner GMR Aero Technic. The two have been partners over the last few years over aircraft maintenance solutions.
GMR Aero Technic has been upgrading its capabilities and expanding its service offerings with plans to become a leading MRO in the Asia Pacific region.
Kuehne+Nagel’s air logistics unit handled 2.2 million tonnes by the end of December 2022 and finished 2022 with revenue up 8 percent at CHF 11.7 billion.
Kuehne+Nagel believes India is likely to become the third largest buyer of commercial passenger planes in the world with more than 1,000 new aircraft orders. The Indian MRO industry is expected to grow to US$4 billion by 2031.
