Scan Global Logistics has finalised its third acquisition this year after it acquired Swiss logistics specialist Belglobe.

The company, founded in 1994 by Stefan Zangger and located in Avenches, provides special logistics solutions for temperature-controlled pharma shipments (BelCool) and high-value luxury goods (BelSafe), with a strong air freight presence in the Latin American market.

SGL said establishing itself in Switzerland is the logical choice due to its proximity to key European markets like Germany, France, Italy, and Austria. It also serves as the home base for many multinational companies that have set up central procurement for their supply chains.

With Belglobe, SGL will gain the foundation and capabilities to grow withing the Swiss market and further develop key industries. Its growing global portfolio now counts 48 countries.
