Singapore Airlines posted cargo growth of 4.3 year-on-year in December on the back of stronger e-commerce demand with load factors down 1.7 percentage points to 52.6 percent no thanks to higher capacity due to higher belly-hold capacity.
The airline posted passenger traffic growing 15.8 percent in Deccember as capacity increased 16.1 percent. Robust load factors across all route regions during the year-end peak travel season, SIA said, as it closed the year with a group passenger load factor (PLF) of 89.4 percent.
Singapore Airlines noted resumed services to Xiamen during the month. As of December, its cargo network stood at 126 destinations spread out in 37 countries and territories, including Singapore.
