Mammoth Freighters LLC (“Mammoth”) announced the appointment of Mike Liu as Director of Marketing and Sales – Asia. In his new role, Liu will be responsible for leading sales and marketing activities for Mammoth’s 777 freighter conversion programs throughout the region.
Liu brings extensive commercial aviation, MRO, and passenger-to-freighter conversion experience to Mammoth, along with a well-established network throughout the Chinese aviation industry and broader Asia-Pacific market.
Prior to joining Mammoth, Liu spent more than 15 years with HAECO Xiamen, where he held progressively senior commercial positions supporting airline customers, base maintenance, and cargo conversion programs. Most recently, he served as Commercial Manager for Cargo Conversion, APAC Base Maintenance and Private Jet Solutions. In that position, Liu led commercial negotiations and aircraft inductions involving several major freighter conversion programs, including Mammoth’s 777 conversion program.
During his tenure at HAECO Xiamen, Liu also managed relationships with more than 20 airline and leasing-company accounts in the region, including China Eastern, China Cargo Airlines, Air China Cargo, SF Airlines, China Postal Airlines, Sichuan Airlines and Xiamen Air. His earlier experience included commercial support for Boeing 747 and 737 freighter conversion programs and customers throughout Asia and internationally.
“We are very pleased to welcome Mike to the Mammoth team,” said Brian McCarthy, Vice President of Marketing and Sales for Mammoth Freighters. “Mike brings a rare combination of deep commercial aviation experience, freighter conversion knowledge and long-standing relationships throughout the Chinese aviation market. He already has a strong understanding of the Mammoth 777 program through his previous work with us, which will allow him to make an immediate contribution. China is an important market for the 777 freighter, and Mike will play a key role in expanding Mammoth’s presence and developing new opportunities throughout the region.”
Liu’s appointment further strengthens Mammoth’s commercial presence in China as the company expands the global reach of its 777-200LRMF and 777-300ERMF freighter conversion programs. Working directly with airlines, aircraft owners, lessors and other industry stakeholders, Liu will focus on developing new business opportunities and supporting customers seeking next-generation widebody freighter solutions.
“Mammoth has developed an exciting 777 freighter program, and I am very pleased to be joining the company at this important stage of its growth,” said Mike Liu. “I look forward to working with customers throughout China, strengthening Mammoth’s relationships in the region and helping operators understand the capabilities and opportunities offered by the Mammoth 777 freighter family.”
