The Holland International Distribution Council (NDL/HIDC), a private non-profit organisation representing around 500 companies and organisations in the Netherlands’ logistics industry, celebrated the offi cial opening of its Hong Kong branch in early September. Speaking at a seminar organised for the offi ce opening, NDL/HIDC President Dirk ‘t Hooft emphasized the importanceof having a presence in Asia.
“Due to its excellent connections to the world’s major economic regions, the available logistics know-how, and attractive fi scal climate, the Netherlands remain an attractive location for European supply chain activities,’’ said Mr Hooft.
“The Dutch logistics industry can therefore play a key role as orchestrator of European supply chains and assist Asian companies to optimize their European logistics,” he said.
The NDL/HIDC helps international companies make a smooth entry into the European market utilizing the Netherlands as the gateway.
