Turkmenistan Airlines is planning to start dedicated cargo plane services from Rajasansi Airport in Amritsar located in India’s Punjab region, to Europe. Nearly 30 per cent of the cargo originating from Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Rajasthan are handled through New Delhi. It is expected that the opening of Amritsar airport as an international cargo hub will not only help alleviate congestion at the Delhi airport but will also offer more effi cient and economical alternative.
