IJS Global Inc., the fast-growingmulti-modal freight forwarder, customsbroker and non-vessel operating commoncarrier, has entered the importantUK freight & logistics market byacquiring majority ownership in London-headquartered Lupprians CargoExpress Limited, one of the country’sleading freight forwarding and logisticscompanies. Terms of the transactionwere not disclosed.

Lupprians has been re-branded asIJS Global (UK) Limited, and will offerits clients across the UK an enhancedworld-wide capability by leveragingIJS Global’s extensive and expandinginter-continental infrastructure. Thecompany has offices at London Heathrow,Manchester and Glasgow.

Mike Gillett, who founded Luppriansin 1993, will remain with there-branded company as CEO, U.K. &Ireland. In addition, Lupprians’ topexecutives and managers will continuewith IJS Global (UK) Limited.

The Lupprians transaction is thelatest step in IJS Global’s Europeanexpansion strategy. In mid-2006, IJSGlobal launched operations acrosscontinental Europe, the Middle Eastand Africa in what has been its largestgeographic expansion to date.
