IATA e-freight and Cargo 2000 saidthey have committed to work togetheron common industry process and standards,built on a unified campaign todrive quality and complete industry coveragefor electronic data interchange.
IATA e-freight and Cargo 2000 aresignificant industry initiatives withinthe IATA Cargo agenda, aimed at simplifyingthe business of air cargo. IATAe-freight focuses on process simplicityand efficiency, and Cargo 2000 (aninterest group of IATA) focuses onprocess quality and control.
Under the deal, IATA e-freight MessageImprovement Programme (MIP)will become an integral part of Cargo2000. IATA e-freight will benefit fromworking closely with the Cargo 2000team to ensure that all e-freight processes,defined during the pilot phaseare aligned with the Cargo 2000 recommendedpractices already in place.IATA e-freight will also draw on theconsiderable expertise and learningof Cargo 2000 to ensure that past lessonsare incorporated into the IATAe-freight approach.
