Boeing last month introduced its latest Current Market Outlook, which forecasts a $2.8 trillion market for new commercial aircraft over the next 20 years to accommodate a forecasted 5 percent annual increase in passenger traffi c, and a 6.1 percent annual increase in air cargo traffic. EUROPE: Jade Cargo hit by lack of pilots
Shenzhen-based Jade Cargo international had been forced to ground one brand new B747-400ERF due to severe pilot shortage. EUROPE: LinkGlobal confi rms Parchim deal
The acquisition of German regional airport Parchim is fully on schedule and will be exercised on July 1, the country’s authorities have announced. Last month, the deal became doubtful after the new owner, Beijing-based forwarding agent LinkGlobal, faced a refusal by the Chinese Government to allow the transfer of up to US$100 million, which the new owner plans to invest in Parchim over a period of fi ve years. EUROPE: LH Cargo moves freighters to Leipzig
Come the 2007 winter fl ight schedules, Lufthansa Cargo is discontinuing its freighter fl ights into and out of Cologne. Those services will instead be operated through Leipzig-Halle Airport from 28 October 2007. The freighter fl ights are being transferred in conjunction with the opening in Leipzig of the DHL Express Europe hub. New Brussels-based all-cargo airline, Cargo B Airlines has appointed several GSAs as part of its worldwide marketing strategy, ready for the start of fl ight operations at the end of September 2007. EUROPE: DHL, LH Cargo to form new airline
Lufthansa Cargo and Deutsche Post subsidiary DHL are on the brink of founding a new cargo airline. The provisional name of the project, that has been secretly discussed between both enterprises since a number of months,is “NewCo” (New Company).
