Malaysian aircraft likely brought down by missile
The Malaysia Airlines B777-200ER which crashed in eastern Ukraine on Thursday killing all 298 persons aboard was shot down by militants, according to a Ukrainian interior ministry official who was quoted by Interfax-Ukraine news agency. AirAsia X, the long haul affiliate of Asia’s largest low cost airline, has signed a Memorandum of Understand (MOU) with Airbus for 50 A330-900neo aircraft. Qatar Airways CEO Akbar al Baker has threatened to reconsider his airline's outstanding Airbus orders should the Abu Dhabi-based carrier fail to obtain requested slots at European airports. “If they (European airport slots) are limited further, we will stop buying European aircraft.
