Dubai Airports has posted doubledigit growth in both cargo and passenger traffic in February. Dubai Airports Cargo and Logistics handled a total of 171,707 tonnes of freight in February 2010, up 26.7 per cent over the same month in 2009. Emirates SkyCargo now operates a weekly brand new B777F aircraft direct from Dubai to and from Düsseldorf. This flight replaces the B747F which was routed via Malpensa. Emirates has also up-sized one of two daily passenger flights from an A330-200 to a B777-ER, which provides an extra seven tonnes of cargo per flight. Air freight forwarders are worried about the handling quality at Frankfurt airport, according to the German DVZ Brief. The article said 20 per cent of forwarders in Frankfurt rated the recent quality of the handling agents on the airport as “poor”, or even worse.
