WFS wins PIA contract for cargo handling, trucking in UK
Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) has won a three-year contract to provide cargo handling and trucking services for Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) in the UK. WFS will handle export and import cargo for PIA’s wide-bodied flights at London Heathrow, Birmingham and Manchester, connecting customers in the UK with Islamabad, Karachi and Lahore. Frankfurt Airport sees September 5.9% pickup in cargo volume
Frankfurt Airport reports cargo throughput (airfreight + airmail) at FRA was positively impacted by the slight recovery of the global economy, resulting in a gain of 5.9 per cent in September 2016. FRA also reported a 1.2 per cent decline in passenger traffic during the first nine months of 2016, despite achieving a new September record. DHL Express opens new €230 million Leipzig sorting centre
DHL, a global leader in international express services, today officially opened the new sorting centre at its express hub in Leipzig. The state-of-the-art sorting facility can now handle bulkier and heavier shipments which are sorted on a fully automated basis at Europe’s most modern shipment sorting facility. London Stansted sees steady climb in cargo volumes
