Air China Cargo (ACC) has announced a new maindeck service to North America from 3 September. The B777F service will see six flights a week Shanghai-Edmonton-Dallas- Edmonton-Shanghai Edmonton making it the carrier’s first scheduled freighter destination in Canada. Garuda teams up with Cardig in cargo
Indonesian flag carrier Garuda Indonesia has signed an agreement with local cargo carrier Cardig Air to coordinate on cargo shipping throughout the region. During the initial stage of cooperation that will take effect in July, Garuda will have the rights to sell freight space aboard Cardig Air flights that serve routes to Surabaya, East Java, Denpasar, Bali, and Dili in Timor Leste. May cargo demand up 2.9% for Asian carriers
Preliminary figures for the month of May released by the Association of Asia Pacific Airlines (AAPA) showed further gains in air cargo markets. Air cargo demand, in freight tonne kilometre (FTK) terms, increased by 2.9 per cent, whilst offered freight capacity grew by 5.1 per cent, leading to a 1.4 percentage point decrease in the average international freight load factor to 63.5 per cent for the month. Ethiopian Airlines has announced an order for six B787-8 Dreamliner at the Paris Air Show. Precision to convert B757-200 for VX Capital
Precision Aircraft Solutions has been contracted to begin a B757 passenger-to-freighter conversion for San Francisco-based Vx Capital Partners. The privately owned leasing company, which specialises in commercial aircraft and engines, tapped Precision earlier this month to assist with capitalising on the thriving market.
