The Stifel Logistics Confidence Index for May indicated some improvements from April’s decline. In particular, the six-month outlook appears bright as airfreight gained 2.8 points to 63.4 and sea freight increased 2.1 points to 62.9. Overall, the total index increased 1.1 points to 57.4 and even though this is down 0.6 points from one year ago, it is still 6.7 points higher than May 2013. WFS is set for biggest EU expansion
Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) is set for the biggest expansion of its ground handling activities in Europe in over 40 years after being awarded full ground handling licenses to operate at Spain’s Madrid, Seville, Santiago, Oviedo and Vitoria airports. AAT speeds up cargo handling by 3 hrs
Hong Kong’s Asia Airfreight Terminal (AAT) has announced that it has set itself higher service standards to speed up the handling of general import cargo by up to three hours. Under the new service standards, the cargo breakdown time for passenger/ combi flights has been reduced by two hours to under three hours for cargo of less than 10 tonnes, and to less than four hours for cargo of 10 tonnes or more.
