Hactl sets all-time ramp records
Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (Hactl) – Hong Kong’s largest cargo handling agent – has broken two records for its ramp handling operations. The company handled 2,242 full freighters in November, beating its previous monthly record of 2,232 set in November 2014. The company has also broken its record for freighters handled in a single day, with a total of 95 on 2 December, breaking its previous record of 92 set on 19 November 2014. Raya Airways to launch two more SE Asian destinations
Malaysia-based Raya Airways has announced its plans to launch two new cargo destinations - Jakarta and Hanoi - by early February 2016 and plans to add five more freighters by Q3 this year. The airline plans to fly three times per week to the two destinations with its B757-200 Freighter which has a capacity of around 32 tonnes of cargo per flight. Amazon has again been operating secret flights carrying thousands of packages, this time in and out of the UK for the past six weeks as it trials setting up its own air freight business, according to a report in the UK’s The Evening Standard.
