UPS to layoff 300 pilots by 2011
US-based express company, UPS is laying off some 300 pilots world-wide between now and 2011, the company announced recently. UPS said it has more pilots than it needs to operate its airline fleet, which is flying fewer flights than it did three years ago due to the global economic recession. February demand still strong: IATA
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) announced that February 2010 international scheduled air traffic showed continued strengthening of demand. Compared to February 2009, cargo demand grew 26.5 per cent while passenger demand was up 9.5 per cent.
