Leading Czech logistics company CS Cargo has bought CS Express, one of the three largest Czech express delivery providers, CTK Business News reported. US-based freight forwarder UPS will increase its domestic and ex-US freight costs between six and seven per cent from January next year. The general rate increase for packages will average around 5.9 per cent for 2009. Packages bound for destinations outside the US will have an average increase of 4.9 per cent. TNT reported a 32.3 per cent drop in third-quarter net profit to €113 million (US$142.5 million), with its Express unit's EBIT declining 23.8 per cent to €99 million. Overall revenue grew just 1.5 per cent to €2.69 billion while Express revenue rose 2.3 per cent to €1.66 billion. Blue Dart Express Ltd sees its quarterly sales climb as profit drops year-on-year. Income from operations for the quarter ended 30 September ‘08 was INR 2,628.4 million, compared to INR 2,073 million a year earlier.
