SIA cargo traffic up 4.3% in April
Singapore Airlines reported April cargo traffic (measured in FTK) rose 4.3 per cent year-on-year to 517.3 million, as compared to a 4.7 per cent increase in capacity. Cargo load factor slipped 0.3 percentage points to 61.4 per cent last month. Load factor improved for South West Pacific (5.9 per cent) and West Asia/Africa (3.3 per cent) regions, but fell for East Asia, Americas and Europe, as demand did not keep pace with capacity changes. Boeing, TUI finalise order for 787-9 Dreamliner
Boeing and TUI Group, integrated leisure travel group of companies, have finalised an order for one 787-9 Dreamliner with an option for one further 787-9. The order is valued at US$257 million at current list prices. TUI Group also announced that it will substitute two unfilled orders for 787-8s for two 787-9s. The European leisure group will operate a fleet of 13 787-8s from this summer and will add three 787-9s to its fleet within the next three years.
