AMERICAS: US investigates Australia, Singapore, Chile trade pacts
The US International Trade Commission (USITC) has announced the launch of an investigation of the Australia, Singapore and Chile free trade agreements (FTA). Specifically, the USITC said it will “identify products that are the subject of long US or partner-country tariff phase-out periods under these three agreements and for which an anomalous post-FTA trade pattern has been observed,†and evaluate possible causes of the anomalies. AMERICAS: Boeing completes first 787 GEnx engine runs
The first General Electric GEnx engines on a Boeing 787 Dreamliner came to life recently with initial engine starts. AMERICAS: ABX Air parent may expand fleet
Wilmington, US-based Air Transport Services Group Inc. (ATSG) has said it may expand its fleet by acquiring three B767-300 aircraft. ATSG is the parent corporation for ABX Air whose biggest customer was DHL Express before the German express and logistics company decided to pull out of domestic operations after years of losses.
