Changi Airport is set to see more cargo capacity between Singapore and India as SpiceJet has launched two weekly services between the city state and three Indian cities, including Bangalore, Chennai and Mumbai. Accompanied by media frenzy, more vaccine shipments are slowly making their way to Asia brought in by flag carriers, as Malaysia Airlines’ cargo unit MASkargo successfully flew in the first batch of Covid-19 vaccines to Malaysia on 21 February. JD.com eyes US$5 billion IPO for logistics unit
Chinese e-commerce giant JD.com is eyeing to list its shipping business JD Logistics in Hong Kong as it looks to ride on China’s post-coronavirus e-commerce boom. The IPO is expected to raise around $5 billion, which would value the logistics unit at about $40 billion, Bloomberg earlier reported. Asia-Pacific nations led all emerging logistics markets as China, India and Indonesia took the top three spots in the Agility Emerging Markets Logistics Index, a broad gauge of competitiveness based on logistics strength and business fundamentals.
