Air India said it will launch its all freighter operations this month. The first all freighter aircraft, converted from an A 310 passenger aircraft will be deployed on the Kerala-Gulf sector. Air India, which in the early 1990s had an air cargo market share of 30 percent, is planning to regain its market share from this operation. PHILIPPINES: MIAA to pay arrears on leased land
The Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) said it will settle the 500 million pesos in arrears for the leased lot from the state-owned Bases Conversion Development Authority (BCDA). Cebu Pacific is likely to increase its cargo business with new aircraft being added to its fleet following an order for 14 French-made ATR72-500 passenger planes. Thai Airways International plans to buy at least 46 new aircraft in a 10 year plan to modernise its ageing fleet, Reuters reported, citing airline president Apinan Sumanaseni.
