India’s state-run Airports Authority of India (AIA) announced that it will build cargo terminals at 24 airports, subject to feasibility studies. Cargo exports from Tiruchi Airport continue to climb steadily with the Airports Authority of India expecting over 50 per cent growth during the current financial year after registering a high of 410 tonnes of cargo in May, according to The Hindu. Aryan Cargo Express to fly early 2010
India’s newest air cargo carrier, Aryan Cargo Express Pvt. Ltd, is likely to start flying early next year, according to managing director Mukut Pathak. “The launch window is between 15 January and 1 February,†he said, adding that the period between February and March is peak season for air cargo. Successful AMHS interoperability tests have been conducted in the Asia-Pacific region between India and Singapore.
