E-commerce and logistics titan Amazon made its first-ever purchase of Boeing 767-300, bringing in 11 of the aircraft type to expand its global fleet. Amazon Air has started operations at its first regional air hub in Europe this month at the Leipzig/Halle Airport (LEJ) in Schkeuditz, Germany. Amazon Air kicks off operations at Florida’s LAL airport
Amazon Air landed for the first time at Lakeland International Airport in Florida on 23 July, ABC Action News reported. Aside from undergoing runway renovations, including upgrading an instrument landing system to guide aircraft operations in bad weather, the airport added five fuel tanks and improved runway 9-27.
