Indian domestic air cargo traffic has halted its sharp decline, with March figures showing a decline of only 2.4 per cent compared to nearly an 11 per cent drop in February, according to the Airports Authority of India (AAI). Singapore Airlines sees profits plunge 92%
Singapore Airlines (SIA) said its January-March profit plunged 92 per cent as the global economic slowdown depressed passenger and cargo movements. The carrier's net profit for its fiscal fourth quarter was S$41.9 million (US$28.7 million), down from S$528 million a year earlier, it said in a statement. Japan Airlines has reported a net loss of Â¥63.1 billion (US$651.2 million) for the 2009 fiscal year ended 31 March, reversing a net profit of Â¥16.9 billion a year earlier.
