Shanghai is now open to e-AWB
Pudong Airport (PVG), Shanghai Customs, have implemented Customs e-Release for both export and import for general cargo (not including express cargo). As a consequence, a stamp on the paper AWB for Customs clearance is no longer required, hence removing the requirement of paper Master AWB. UK forwarders object to airline surcharge
The trade association for UK freight forwarders and logistics service providers is encouraging its members to object to a Paper Air Waybill (AWB) Surcharge that airlines are planning for export AWBs that are not filed electronically. The International Air Transport Association (IATA) announced the standardisation of cargo liability limits. With effect from 1 July 2010, the Air Waybill (AWB) Conditions of Contract (IATA Resolution 600b) have been changed to harmonise the application of the Montreal Convention liability limit for all air cargo across all routes.
