Chinese e-commerce giant JD.com is eyeing to list its shipping business JD Logistics in Hong Kong as it looks to ride on China’s post-coronavirus e-commerce boom. The IPO is expected to raise around $5 billion, which would value the logistics unit at about $40 billion, Bloomberg earlier reported. Asia-Pacific nations led all emerging logistics markets as China, India and Indonesia took the top three spots in the Agility Emerging Markets Logistics Index, a broad gauge of competitiveness based on logistics strength and business fundamentals. EVA Air’s cargo revenue continued the uptrend in the first month of 2021, sustaining its growth momentum despite weak passenger traffic. Cargo revenue soared 150 percent year on year to US$171 million (TW$480.2 million) in January, with cargo yield up 86.2 percent to TW$13.21. Antonov Airlines drafted its AN-124 to complete an urgent order to carry a 54-tonne rotor, used in power generation, from Ghana to India for repairs and back to Ghana in good condition. Orders for 737-800 converted freighters are picking up as aircraft fleet operator ASL Aviation Holdings (ASL) exercised options to convert 10 of the aircraft for cargo use, following an original agreement with Boeing for 10 firm orders and 10 options at the Paris Air Show in June 2019.
