Cathay hopes SAF purchase sends ‘right signal’
Cathay Pacific has signed an offtake agreement with Aemetis for the supply of 38 million gallons of blended sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), with delivery scheduled to start in the next 3 years. The community at Hong Kong airport is getting ready as ‘operation familiarisation’ commenced with the first government and commercial cargo flights descending upon the new third runway last week. Cathay Pacific brings back full freighter schedule
Big news for this month for Cathay Pacific, as the Hong Kong airline resumed its full freighter schedule with around 90 to 100 freighters each week. Tom Owen, cargo director, said it will operate 35 transpacific freighters a week for the Americas and a daily freighter service to Europe.
