Virgin Atlantic Cargo recorded a record month for tonnage from Chicago in June, boosting its monthly average volume on the route by over 30 per cent to more than 860 tonnes. Virgin Atlantic Cargo teamed up with motorsport freight forwarding specialists first-air to organise delivery of two Chevrolet Corvette CR.7 cars from Chicago to London on their journey to Le Mans in France, where Corvette Racing is bidding to win the 83rd running of the Le Mans 24-hour endurance race. DB Schenker’s jetcargo division launched a new weekly air cargo service effective today, linking Hong Kong, China (HKG), to Chicago, IL (ORD), and Houston, TX (IAH). Turkish Air to launch Shannon-Chicago
Turkish Airlines has been granted permission to carry air cargo from Shannon to Chicago, starting immediately, and will become Ireland’s only direct all-cargo service to North America. Emirates SkyCargo, the freight division of Emirates, has boosted its capacity to Chicago with the start of daily non-stop flights.
