Dachser resumes HKG-FRA charter, boosts air network
Logistics service provider Dachser has resumed its weekly air charter from Hong Kong to Frankfurt, which will now become a year-round service, a press release stated. "At the end of last year, the effect of increased e-commerce became especially evident in the load factors and intensified the shortfall in capacity," says Timo Stroh, head of global air freight at Dachser. Dachser is shaking up its board with a new generation of C-suite executives to lead its operations at the start of the new year. The company recently named Burkhard Eling as new CEO effective 1 January. Freiburg is the latest test site for Dachser and its emission-free delivery as the company is set to roll out an all-electric fleet of Fuso eCanters, StreetScooters, and cargo bikes in the German city. Dachser has designated post code 79098 for Freiburg’s city centre—including parts of the city’s Altstadt, Neuburg, and Oberau districts—an emission-free delivery area. Dachser adds weekly charter flights between Hong Kong and Frankfurt
Dachser is responding to capacity bottlenecks caused by the coronavirus crisis by expanding its charter programme to include the Hong Kong–Frankfurt route.
