Taiwan’s EVA Air has finalised a firm order with Airbus for the purchase of 18 A350-1000 aircraft, becoming the latest airline to select the type for its future long-haul requirements. Cargo up 35 percent for Taiwan’s airlines in March
Taiwan-based airlines saw cargo volumes soar in the double digits in March, even as passenger demand stayed weak. Taiwanese carriers reported a combined volume of 233,523 tonnes for the month, representing a 35 percent jump year-on-year. China Airlines’ cargo volume jumped 26.7 percent to 154,095 tonnes, whilst Evergreen subsidiaries EVA Air and Uni Airways saw cargo up 52.5 and 55.5 percent, respectively. EVA Air inks cargo handling deal with WFS in Seattle
Taiwanese carrier EVA Air has signed a new three-year cargo handling contract with Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) in Seattle, extending their 15 years of partnership in North America. Under the agreement WFS will handle all cargo onboard the airline’s daily B777 passenger flights connecting Taipei and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. EVA Air appointed Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (Hactl) as its handling agent, with effect from 5th January 2018. Hactl will provide all cargo handling services for the airline’s operations from Hong Kong, which include over 60 passenger and 8 wide-body freighter flights per week.
