Kazakhstan has gradually reopened its borders as Air Astana resumed direct flights to major cities, such as Seoul, Dubai, Frankfurt, Kyiv, and Istanbul. April cargo volumes spike at Frankfurt on back of Asia surge
Cargo (airfreight + airmail) volumes experienced strong growth, soaring by 5.0 per cent to 181,948 tonnes in April, year-on-year. Far East traffic was the main growth driver, with cargo tonnage to/from this region surging 9.0 per cent. FCS, WFS merger at Frankfurt complete
The operations of FCS Frankfurt Cargo Services GmbH and WFS Worldwide Flight Services in Frankfurt have been fully merged following the takeover of FCS by WFS a few months ago. Since 1 February 2016 FCS has been in charge of the WFS handling - with physical handling carried out by FCS using its warehouse facilities.
