European airport trade body, ACI Europe released its traffic report for February. The report is the only air transport report which includes all types of civil aviation passenger flights: full service, low cost and charter. Transaero launches cargo service to Beijing
Transaero Airlines has launched cargo services between Russia and China. Transaero, being the designated scheduled carrier on the Beijing-Novosibirsk route, delivered 22.4 tonnes of mail while performing the first flight on this route using Tu-204C aircraft. ABC launches Dallas service, increases Chicago
Russia’s largest cargo carrier, AirBridgeCargo Airlines (ABC), is expanding its presence in the US market with the launch of B747-8F freighter flights linking Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) with Amsterdam and Moscow. The new twice-weekly all-cargo flights from Dallas/Fort Worth will operate to Amsterdam Schiphol and Moscow’s Sheremetyevo airports. Aeroflot scolded for not buying ‘Made-in-Russia’
Prime Minister Vladimir Putin reprimanded Aeroflot recently for not purchasing enough Russian-made planes, telling the state-run carrier's CEO, Vitaly Savelyev that growing profits and dividends were not its only concern. The airline recently announced plans to purchase a combined 44 planes from Boeing and Airbus, compared with 30 of Sukhoi's regional SuperJet, starting in 2016.
