Singapore Airlines (SIA) has released its July system-wide statistics indicating an overall cargo load factor 4.1 percentage points lower, year-on-year, as cargo traffic (measured in freight-tonne-kilometres) declined 5.0 per cent against capacity growth of 1.6 per cent. Airbus has begun final assembly of the first A350-900 for Singapore Airlines at its facilities in Toulouse, France. The aircraft is the first of 70 A350 XWBs ordered by the airline and is scheduled for delivery in the first quarter of 2016. The A350 XWB will form a major part of the future Singapore Airlines fleet and will be operated on the carrier’s medium and long-haul routes. SIA Cargo sees improving cargo traffic
Singapore Airlines (SIA) Cargo has reported a 5.2 per cent growth in overall cargo load factor (CLF) in February, year-on-year, as cargo traffic (measured in freight-tonne-kilometres) was 17.1 per cent higher against an overall capacity increase of 7.6 per cent. Total freight carried for the month rose 14.7 per cent y-o-y to 84,800 tonnes. Singapore Airlines Cargo has appointed CHEP Aerospace Solutions to maintain and repair its entire fleet of ULDs worldwide under an exclusive five-year agreement. Scoot the wholly-owned low-cost, long-haul subsidiary of Singapore Airlines, has selected UTC Aerospace Systems to provide asset management and repair services for components on its B787 aircraft through a Comprehensive Accessory Repair and Exchange (C.A.R.E.) programme agreement.
