Changi Airport outlines top priorities for cargo
Singapore Changi Airport saw muted cargo volumes in March compared to the same period last year, as the Asia Pacific hub recorded 152,000 tonnes. For the first quarter, air freight movements at Changi totalled 417,000 tonnes, sliding 9 percent year-on-year. Changi restores connectivity as cargo dips in 2022
Cargo flows at Singapore Changi Airport dipped slightly in 2022 no thanks to global economic uncertainty and inflationary pressures. Airfreight throughput was down 4.8 percent year on year at 1.85 million tonnes. Singapore has launched the first ever safety charter for the aviation sector with the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) taking the lead at the annual Aviation Safety Forum held on 7 March.
