ASL Aviation Group has acquired the airline operations of TNT Express, comprised of TNT Airways (Belgium) and Pan Air Líneas Aéreas (Spain). The two airlines are to be renamed ASL Airlines Belgium and ASL Airlines Spain respectively and bring the total number of airlines in the Irish aviation group to nine. Liege Airport returns to growth
Liege Airport has confirmed its position as the number one cargo airport in Belgium with 590,579 tonnes of cargo passing through the airport in 2014, against 560,949 tonnes in 2013, representing an increase of 5.3 per cent. TNT Airways to deploy paperless cockpits
TNT Airways, TNT’s subsidiary airline, is to roll out paperless cockpits across its worldwide fleet of 50 aircraft, following approval from the Belgian Civil Aviation Authority to use iPad Air tablets as electronic flight bags. Each iPad will replace the 50 kilos of paper books and manuals carried by crews on each flight. TNT, Emirates sign code-share deal
TNT Airways, and Emirates SkyCargo have signed a code-sharing deal which they say will help them optimise capacity and increase frequency. Under the agreement, Emirates SkyCargo will place its airline code and use space on TNT Airways’ B777 freighter flights on the New York-Liege and Hong Kong-Dubai-Liege routes.
