A new logistics company has started its operations in the Philippines that will provide a full suite of services such as multi-modal freight, logistics, and supply chain management.
Schenker Philippines, Inc. led by its managing director Reiner Allgeier, was an offshoot of the merger of BAX Global, Inc., CPI Transport, Inc., and Star Trans International, according to a Bulletin report.
The company has about 500 employees over nine locations throughout the Philippines. Schenker and BAX Global are part of DB Logistics, the transportation and logistics division of Deutsche Bahn AG.
The new Schenker Philippines will provide air and sea freight, land transportation, integrated logistics and supply chain management, customs clearances, IT solutions, projects, fairs and events and household removals.
Schenker, BAX Global Phils, CPI and Star Trans International have joined forces to become one of the industry’s leading logistics providers in the Philippines. BAX has been active in the Philippines for over 10 years, while CPI has been in the country for 20 years with established customers across industries such as high-tech, automotive, retail, consumer, telecom and chemicals.
Schenker and BAX Global are in the process of integrating around the world. The joint organisation has a team of about 50,000 experts at 1,500 locations in 150 countries.
Together, Schenker and BAX are now the world’s number one source for European land transportation, second in global airfreight and third in global sea freight, sixth in global contract logistics and third for the North American integrated heavy freight.
