Korean Air Cargo, the world’s largest air cargo carrier by operation, last month awarded its best global ground handler award to Malaysia Airlines Cargo Sdn Bhd (MASkargo). The award was presented by deputy general manager Korean Air, Thomas Lim Tae Hoon to MASkargo’s senior general manager, J.J. Ong. Korean Air Cargo uses MASkargo’s Advanced Cargo Centre (ACC) at KL International Airport (KLIA) and Penang Cargo Centre (PCC) at Penang International Airport for its freighter operations.

The ACC, which currently operates close to 100 percent capacity, underwent extension works to meet increased transhipment and export tonnage. This additional warehouse space has increased capacity by 60,000 tonnes, which brings the overall capacity of the ACC to 710,000 tonnes.
