Total cargo handled at Israel’s Ben Gurion Airport in September was up 1.2 per cent to 24,633 tonnes, compared to a year earlier.
The Israel Civil Aviation Authority (ICAA) reported last week that Ben Gurion Airport handled 980,580 passengers during September 2007 on 7,615 international and domestic flights, nearly 29 per cent higher than September 2006.
Cargo carried by passenger operations declined by 2.2 percent to 9,434 tonnes in September, compared to a year earlier. Cargo flown on dedicated cargo freighters totaled 15,199 tonnes,up 3.4 percent year-on-year.
In the nine months period January– September 2007 the airport handled230,263 tonnes, up 3.6 per cent compared to the first nine months in2006.
