LAN Airlines said that cargo traffic decreased eight per cent in September, compared with the previous year. This decrease was mainly due to the slowdown in import and export markets in LatinAmerica, as well as the reduction of salmon exports from Chile, the carrier said. In line with the decrease in demand, capacity fell seven per cent, mainly through the reduction of ACMI (Airplane, Crew, Maintenance and Insurance) leases. The cargo load factor reached its highest level this year at 69.8 per cent.
