Cargo movements at Singapore Changi Airport in May totalled 153,098 tonnes, an increase of 14.7 per cent on the same month last year. For the Jan-May period, airfreight movements were up 17.3 per cent to 728,794 tonnes. Aircraft movements rose 12.4 per cent, taking the number for May to 22,151 and the total for the five months to 106,177, up 9.6 per cent. The airport saw 3.39 million passenger movements during the month, a 21.6 per cent increase year-on-year. Separately, the Changi Airport Group announced Finnair will return to Singapore with daily non-stops from Helsinki from May 2011.
