Air cargo ends 2014 up 4.5% on 2013: IATA
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) released full-year air cargo data for 2014 showing 4.5 per cent demand growth compared to 2013 measured by freight tonne kilometres (FTKs), marking a "significant acceleration" from the 1.4 per cent recorded in 2013 over 2012. AAT sees continued rise in throughput for July
Asia Airfreight Terminal Co Ltd (AAT) has announced that its tonnage throughput in July 2010 was 61,363 tonnes, recording a growth of 44 per cent compared with the same period last year. Export cargo registered 42,808 tonnes, a growth of 53 per cent when compared with the same month last year. French-based logistics provider Geodis said that it had returned to strong growth in the first half of 2010. Together, recent acquisitions and organic growth drove a 37.1 per cent (€841.6 million) increase in revenue to €3,112.6 million. Changi Airport sees ongoing growth
Cargo movements at Singapore Changi Airport in May totalled 153,098 tonnes, an increase of 14.7 per cent on the same month last year. For the Jan-May period, airfreight movements were up 17.3 per cent to 728,794 tonnes. Aircraft movements rose 12.4 per cent, taking the number for May to 22,151 and the total for the five months to 106,177, up 9.6 per cent.
