Cargolux has accepted its third B747-8
freighter at the end of March joining a fleet
of nine B747-400F, three B747-400BCF
and two B747-8F. The new aircraft was
originally due in late 2011 but the delivery
was pushed back by programme delays
at Boeing. The rollover of the Cargolux
fleet will continue in 2012 and as the
carrier builds up its B747-8 freighter fleet,
the three leased B747-400BCF, that are
currently operated to bridge the capacity
gap caused by the delivery delays, are
planned to be phased out by year end,
according to Cargolux.
